So when I first started out I used a lot of plastic backed diapers and they are just awful for extended hiking trips… or just adventures in general… I try to avoid those for hikes, adventures, music festivals, etc. Cloth backed diapers have really saved my thighs (especially considering how thick they are 😅). Sometimes I’ll apply a lot of butt cream, and powder to my thighs to assist with keeping them dry… but really the cloth backed is key. Plus don’t stay in a SUPER soggy diaper too long… the more the sag the more the chaf… I would rate these diapers as top three for hiking right now. 1. @GoPretendAgain & @LilComforts there cloth backs held up the best their designs didn’t fade and their materials actually survived hot and humid areas like Guam and the Philippines. 2. @ABUDiapers they’re good too but the designs would fade in the humidity and occasionally their tapes would give out on climbs. 3. @NorthShoreABDL they’re diapers are the cheapest option but I really only use them on day hikes, they don’t withstand hardcore adventures or humidity all that well.
