This is a Crinoid aka Feather Star (which? Ok, I have been calling feather DUSTER stars this whole time but apparently that’s not what they’re called, omg) Some crinoids are stuck to the bottom by stalks, others like this one swim freely. There are over 500 species of crinoid!

My autistic brain loves to plan out entire conversations before socialising. It can be tiring, but it comforts me. I like to prepare for every eventuality, so I map out every conversational path in mind, like I’m creating and repeatedly playing a “choose your own adventure” game.

Some day I will stop being surprised at ospreys' ability to lift off after being submerged, but today is not that day.
