I concur with everything you said. Only two people in my life are aware I have ventured into this arena; my accountant and one of my closest friends (who happens to be an attorney). When I began researching the industry, I told her it was not going to be easy, that it will take 20 hours MINIMUM weekly and, most likely, double that. She scoffed and said "20 hours doing WHAT?". Now, a few months later, after hearing how much work it takes, she is quiet. Yet, she says "everyone I know has an "OF page". Clearly not.
