This isn’t unique. Physics is full of these correspondences. Mechanical systems and electrical circuits share the same equations.
A mass–spring–damper is basically the mechanical equivalent of an RLC circuit.

With respect to Gauss's law, Coulomb came before Gauss and may have been inspired by Isaac Newton.
He experimentally found the inverse-square law.
Gauss later explained why it’s 1/r^2.
Discovered first — explained later.

The inverse-square law emerges naturally in 3D from Gauss’s law.
Whether it’s gravity or electric charge, the field spreads over a sphere → 1/r².
Same structure, different constants.
