By this I mea Charley’s family could very easily call him or write him a letter, but they choose not to. Charley wants nothing to do with them, but a tiny part of him wishes there was a connection He wishes his family liked him

I’ve always been very conflicted on what Charley’s family life is like, in terms of how connected he is to them On one hand I want him to literally never talk to them, but a part of me wants to add just a tiny string holding their relationship together

Barley is scrapped from the butcher gang for whatever reason and so Shipahoy is made to try and replace him (doesn’t work) So Barley understandably hates him, but so do Charley and Edgar. They don’t want him, they want BARLEY So they don’t like each other LOL

I really want Barley and Shipahoy to have some kind of rivalry or hatred. Idk why. I just feel like it’d work because they’re both pirate/sailors and have seemingly opposite temperaments Consider him Barley’s own “Bendy”
