Rebel Homebrewers

The homebrew club is based in Cardiff. We meet monthly and welcome home brewers of any skill. Feel free to come along next month.

Tonight we have our first online session with members of @BrewNorwich for our interclub beer swap. 2 x Kolsch and 2 x Hazy IPA are our styles tonight with one example brewed by a brewer from each club.

Last reminder- this is tomorrow. All welcome, if you are an existing home brewer or just thinking about starting brewing. Pop n Hops from 6:30. Ace pizzas available from Brass Beetle. Fine beers on draft and from PnH fridges. And homebrew to taste. It’s a good night out.

Reminder : no club meet this week, instead we are meeting a week tomorrow, Oct 20th, from 6:30 at @Popnhops. All welcome, bring a bottle or 2 of what you have been brewing, if you can.

Due to some scheduling challenges, we are switching to 3rd Thu of the month for rest of the year for our meetings. 20th Oct in Pop n Hops. 17th Nov at Mad Dog. And then the Xmas Party in PopnHops 15th Dec. Amend those calendars and book those fridays off, if you got the holiday!

The next club meeting will be Thursday 8th Sep, from 6:30pm at @MadDogBrewCo , Castle St, Cardiff. All home brewers welcome. Bring a bottle or two of what you have been brewing, to share, if you can.

@bahocelot @psyduck_killer Seriously cracking beer. You did your homework and did all you could to make it as good as you could. I think temp control during early fermentation will take it to the next level. Genuinely excited for your next brews!

@RhysD I'm also not trying to split a community, but at the moment it is very difficult for anyone choosing not to use FB to find out much of anything about the club or events, as evidenced by the folks who got in touch the other day asking when the next meet was during the last one

REBEL members or want to be members. This may be a fruitless exercise as I'm asking on a specific platform, but what platform works best to interreact with you? We're mainly on Facebook because of the features and reach but I know some folk don't use it

@Popnhops Yea I was just about to say that was a major downside of it. I know we don't have over 100 active members taking part with any regularity but we do have a lot of members that follow along and take part occasionally

Twitter is far too restrictive in terms of the amount you can share without splitting it into 100 tiny parts, we've tried forums and no one used them, so I'm trying to work out a way to involve the people who choose not to use the platform where we are, without loads more effort

@bahocelot Unfortunately you've just missed it, it was this evening at Mad Dog Brewery and taproom in Cardiff. It's usually the second Thursday and recently its been alternating between @MadDogBrewCo and @Popnhops Hopefully see you at the next one

Hi @RebelHBC, a friend and I have just finished our first batch of homebrew and wouldn’t mind some feedback on it if you don’t mind some rookies showing up. When and where is your next meeting? I’m not on Facebook so can’t access the info on there I’m afraid. Cheers in advance
