David Seymour has never actually worked a proper job. He doesn't know what it's like.

I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. He also did courtroom sketches in court cases. In the comments I’ll share some pics from his sketchbook. He was excited when I said I was going to share his sketches with the world.

@greencatherine @McDonaldGinette Bishop is an unrepentant tobacco lobbyist and doesn't need to be paid to say idiotic things. But I think these points can be made without invoking the historic associations of "shekels", even if the Israeli government's massive PR budget is technically in that currency.

@GavinNewsom This investigation is LONG OVERDUE. She’s a liar and a fraud. 21 men. 21- it’s unbelievable that she has had this happen 21 times. UNBELIEVABLE. This is an insult to anyone who has been a victim of sexual misconduct or sexual assault. Disgusting

This week alone: DOJ opens an investigation into the woman Trump raped. The White House is caught steering a $620 million contract to Don Jr.’s firm. The Pentagon hands out a $10 billion contract after Trump buys stock in the company. Foreign governments are caught funneling hundreds of millions into a random JPMorgan account tied to Trump’s “Board of Peace” with no oversight. It’s just Thursday. The corruption isn’t hidden anymore. It’s happening out in the open.

“I remember touching one of the sows in those crates. She was red and big with fourteen piglets tussling off to the side. She flinched. I could feel a strange sense of horror deep inside me, but I pushed it down. I rested my hand on her back and, for one brief moment, she

Idk who needs to hear this (apparently all of twitter) but OpenAI did not just magically get the DoD to agree to the terms Anthropic was asking for. Sam is blowing smoke up your ass to distract from the fact OpenAI just took the terms Anthropic considered so egregious, it warranted jeopardizing an enormous part of their business. The DoD does not just break off a massive contract to accept the same demands 5 minutes later from someone else. Until explicitly indicated otherwise, the only logical conclusion here is that OpenAI swooped in and unscrupulously stooped lower than Anthropic was willing to go for the money. Assume all OpenAI data will now be used for what Anthropic deemed “mass domestic surveillance of Americans”. Plan and prompt accordingly.

Tonight, we reached an agreement with the Department of War to deploy our models in their classified network. In all of our interactions, the DoW displayed a deep respect for safety and a desire to partner to achieve the best possible outcome. AI safety and wide distribution of benefits are the core of our mission. Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement. We also will build technical safeguards to ensure our models behave as they should, which the DoW also wanted. We will deploy FDEs to help with our models and to ensure their safety, we will deploy on cloud networks only. We are asking the DoW to offer these same terms to all AI companies, which in our opinion we think everyone should be willing to accept. We have expressed our strong desire to see things de-escalate away from legal and governmental actions and towards reasonable agreements. We remain committed to serve all of humanity as best we can. The world is a complicated, messy, and sometimes dangerous place.

The statement on the 🇺🇸 & 🇮🇱 attacks on Iran by #NZ Govt is a disgrace. The Govt knows full well that international law has been breached even though negotiations were under way. It knows that 🇺🇸 walked away from the last nuclear agreement with Iran. Why the servility?

Pop back on X and instead of the usual antisemitism, the theme of the day seems to be complaining about the Ardern government saving the lives of tens of thousands of NZers by choosing differently from the international consensus.

I explain how rightists justify calls for repression and violence. 1) Go to social media and find the most obscure people celebrating violence. Say that this is "the left." 2) Say "the left" wants you dead, blaming the entire Democratic Party Literally not a single Democrat is celebrating the Kirk assassination. It's complete wishcasting on the right. They're radicalizing their followers based on an inaccurate view of their opponents that fits with a victimization narrative. Meanwhile, the most prominent people on their side start indulging in conspiracy theories and gleefully sharing memes after Pelosi's husband is attacked in his home. The hypocrisy here is overwhelming. They get off on the idea of "civil war" and collapse and invent the reality they want to see. They imagine Democrats are like themselves, when they're not.

Here is why starving children is fine, here is why targeting journalists is fine, here is why destroying hospitals is fine, here is why destroying every house in Gaza is fine, here is why shooting people in line for food is fine. Do you hear yourselves? Are you fucking serious?
