SARAA-Scotland rely massively on the generosity of our supporters. We are extremely thankful to Hayden Prentice from
Granite Defense Technologies for helping us to keep our fleet of drones serviced and operational. #dronesforgood #TXPSRobots #robotics

Many thanks to Steve Emerson at Volatus Aerospace for kitting the Search and Rescue Aerial Association - Scotland drones out with strobe lights. This allows us to keep our drones more visible in the sky or against the mountains. It is very much appreciated! #dronesforgood

Our Training Officer, Darryl has been helping to train a Winter Mountain Rescue course in Georgia this past week. Here are some of his wintery pics #ScottishMR #dronesforgood #VolunteeringToSaveLives

SARAA Pilots from Oban Mountain Rescue Team were training at night this week. Night flying can be tricky, especially in Winter conditions and requires regular practice. They managed to capture some stunning pics whist flying #dronesforgood #VolunteeringToSaveLives

A fantastic image taken by SARAA pilots who are members of Arran Mountain Rescue Team Whilst operating in the winter environment can be more challenging, the views can be amazing #dronesforgood #ScottishMR #VolunteeringToSaveLives

One scenario was an avalanche. We had to find a 1x1m target, crampons, helmet, carabiners, rope and an ice axe. Pilots were 300-400m from a steep gully rising from 430m to 700m. In real conditions, a very dangerous environment. The images show what capability a #drone can bring.

Superb day one yesterday with some challenging scenarios high up in some steep gully’s simulating fallen climbers, an avalanche tip and a river incident. Let’s see what day two of our training weekend brings.. #dronesforgood

There are so many use cases for #drones in mountain rescue, today one was used by @TweedValleyMRT to help with event monitoring of a hill running race. #dronesforgood @ScottishMR

Nice long summer evening shadows whilst one of our pilots was getting some currency flying completed 😍 #DroneSAR #dronesforgood

Really proud that @dazarster, one of our pilots and our fundraising officer, has been selected by The Churchill Fellowship to research and develop the use of standardised procedures for drone #searchandrescue.
Many congrats Darryl 🥂 #dronesforgood

Where's the casualty...? Zoom + immersive goggles = about 3sec of view of our 'lost and injured' cas before they disappeared back into the heather 600m from the drone and 1km from the pilot!

Our test @AutelRobotics Evo Max 4T was used on its first operational flights with @TweedValleyMRT in a missing person search. The extended flight time allowed an extensive area to be covered and the worth of a superb zoom and the ability to generate coordinates was well proven.

Great interview with our training officer on how drones are making a difference with @GallowayMRTeam #dronesforgood @ScottishMR

Great to speak to Fiordland SAR in NZ last night on how we are organised, our experiences of setting up a drone unit and some of our search tactics.
All this is voluntary with just cost of time, we don’t charge anything for this within the SAR community. checkout.justgiving.com/c/3320753

@Digital_Essence @SARAAScotland @AutelRobotics @Dji Be even better if it sent back a SAR Deploy link generated from the derived location!

The @AutelRobotics Evo Max 4T has been impressing. Here is 30s from starting a search for someone. A hasty search with the IR draws attention, visual camera takes over, ranging laser fired and a position generated (380m away!) to pass to control to go and rescue. #dronesforgood
