There are 4️⃣ new faces in this year’s intake for the Sussex Cricket Girls’ Academy and Emerging Players Programme (EPP) 👏 A total of nine girls have been selected for the programme:

@scbadger @ChrisColeman343 @scbadger we ran sessions throughout last summer just for state school players from Under 13 and older on the Pathway and are hoping to continue these, as well as expanding to include younger age groups. Schools players attend have no bearing on selection, all done on merit.

@ChrisColeman343 @SCLPathway Good stuff thanks Chris. It’s definitely noticeable the improvement in the pathway, just concerning to hear clubs still suggesting (not publicly) that private school kids get more favourable treatment. I’d hate to think true even if subconsciously as we could be missing talent.

Thanks for the response. Appreciate other factors in play and numbers up, but ~7% of all kids go to private school yet 64% of the kids in the pathway are from private. That’s an alarming stat we must be missing talent? What can all clubs do better to get these numbers improved?

Attention U13 East Area @SCLPathway Players Please note the first scheduled session that was due to take place at Bedes School tonight from 5.15 - 7.15pm is cancelled. This session will be rescheduled at a later date.
