This Friday (4/3) we are hosting Matt Gamette from the Idaho State Police Forensic Services! His presentation will cover current advocacy issues impacting forensics, the mission of the NTVIC, and touch on rapidly growing areas of interest within forensic science.

Join us Wed. 4/1 from 9:30am-11:30am in Lyman 132 to learn more about the 2nd Weapons of Mass Destruction- Civil Support Team (CST)! This seminar will cover who the CST is, what they do, sample response scenarios, a hands-on demo of their portable analytical equipment, and Q&A!

Our Seminar Series is back this Friday with Scott Jarrett! Learn about forensics in TV, hear from Scott's 10 years of experience on the series NCIS, and explore how these series balance the responsibility of accurately representing forensic science within each 1-hour episode.

🎓Congratulations to our December 2025 MS Graduates! 🎓Students completed their degree requirements this past December thanks to their hard work and dedication. An additional congrats extends to Cameron and Taylor, who presented original research in the final seminar of the year!

One of our last seminars for the semester is this Friday from 1-2pm in LSB 105 with speaker Scott Brenneck! As a past SU Law Graduate, Scott will speak on the role of a Defense Attorney within the criminal justice system, his current career, and particular cases of interest.

Continuing our highlights of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists Conference, we would like to congratulate graduate student Sophia Walton, who received the George W. Neighbor Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award at the annual NEAFS President's Awards Luncheon! 🏆

Two weeks ago MS students Taylor Walther, Cameron Brown and Maya Medina, attended the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists Conference in Lancaster PA to present their research as part of the forensic biology/DNA scientific and poster sessions. Great job everyone!

Thank you to Jonathan Jacobs for his presentation on ATCC's Genome Portal at last week's Seminar! Students loved hearing about ATCC's organization, the importance of using authenticated references linked to physical, traceable materials, and its impact on their current research.
