As generative AI enters classrooms, one question dominates the conversation: What skills will still matter? Chapter 2 of Shift the Entry Point focuses on what I call durable competencies. These are skills that live in the learner, not the tool.

Much of the AI conversation in schools is framed around cheating and control. Chapter 1 of Shift the Entry Point argues that we’re actually facing a design problem, not a moral one. Which of these are you already seeing in your classroom?
