My 15 year old Schnauzer is slowing down alot. He doesn't hear very well and is starting to lose his vision. I have to carry him home most days because his little legs get very tired. I will make him comfortable until his very last breath. ❤️

@JessiLRoberts @KristiNoem So, there are two choices in your 'culture'. Kill your dog, or have strangers kill your dog. Either way, the dog is killed. A dog is a best friend for life. I'm sorry you will never see this joy. But mostly, I'm sorry for the dogs you've disposed of. They deserved better.

@SandySharkey @KristiNoem It's part of our culture to deal with problem dogs ourselves, not pass them off to the shelter so we can pretend they got a good home, when in reality, they were likely suffering terrible stress at the shelter before being killed by strangers.

The opposition often points to a low mortality rate during shipment as how we should judge the export of live horses for slaughter. When I questioned Dr. Watson, a vet and animal welfare expert, he shared my view that judging an animals welfare by a mortality rate is shameful.
