Ildemaro Vargas squares up the ball at an elite level and rarely Whiffs/Ks. He added a tic of bat speed and started launching the ball at ideal angles to start the year. Some obvious regression is in store (53.6 LA Sweet-Spot% just won’t happen) but I like him as an all star canidate this year if he can find a way to hit the ball harder and pull some fly balls or keep slapping singles/stretch doubles down the line

One thing that impressed me about Yordan Alvarez is his ability to pull balls in the air without becoming a complete shift victim. He still has the ability to hit to. The opposite field and get in the gaps while pulling the ball in the air almost exclusively to leave the park.

Stuff+ has a has time capturing how nasty Sale is, but he’s gonna be the next Jamie Moyer if he keeps this up.
