Back in 1988 I somehow ended up on Blind Date with Cilla Black — peak Saturday night TV! Here I met some wonderful people like Amanda Holden and Nina Wadia. While the show was looking for romance, I found something better: lifelong friendship. I met some wonderful people, but the real gift was meeting my dear friend Jofi Alexander — the brother I never had. For 35+ years the Alexander family have treated me as one of their own. From visiting my mum Feriha in her final days to sharing life’s big moments together, Jofi’s friendship has meant more than I can say. I attended the funeral of Jofi’s father this weekend.
