The 8th grade field trip to Cross Keys has been cancelled due to inclement weather forecast. Parents and students are invited to attend the re-enactment on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is free.

Mrs. Bramlett’s 6th graders went on a Writing Walk around campus Friday morning geared towards writing for enjoyment and strengthening their descriptive language with sensory details. Of course, they also enjoyed a break with her favorite activity... DANCE!

Sixth grade students visited USC-Union today. SMS and USC-Union along with the Universities of Possibilities program get middle school students excited about college. Now is the time to start planning for their future.

The Sims Middle School Honor Band, directed by Mr. David Candler, received an Excellent rating at the 2019 South Carolina Concert Performance Assessment! They also received a perfect score in sight reading! Congratulations!!

The 7th and 8th grade students learned about metal embossing in art class. It is typically done in copper we used aluminum pans. The students got to explore the embossing technique and create beautiful works of art. They did an amazing job and we are very proud of them!

Spring school pictures will be taken tomorrow Feb 21, 2019. Only students who are prepaying (online or with the photographer) will have pictures made.

January is School Board Appreciation Month. Our school will honor Ms. Betty McMorris and Dr. Wanda All. Thank you for representing Union County. We appreciate all that you do for our students, faculty, and staff.
