We're a remote team, like most of web3. Every so often we get the whole team in one room. And that's usually where the big ideas show up. @refihub started on one of those trips. We kept circling the same question: where do you actually put capital to work on-chain? Not trade it. Not rotate it. Actually deploy it into something that produces value. We couldn't find a good answer. So we built one. At the time, crypto felt like it was turning in on itself. NFTs were cooling off. Most of what was happening on-chain was tokens feeding tokens, with no real connection to anything outside the loop. We kept looking for something with substance underneath. Through our @CoralTribeNFT impact fund, we'd had early exposure to solar projects in Brazil. Real assets. Generating electricity every day. Producing revenue on a predictable schedule. And yet, access was limited, fragmented and mostly offline. The gap was obvious. So we built the smallest version we could: one tiny solar asset, tokenized over a long-term contract. Rough around the edges. Long deal cycle. No liquidity. Limited tooling. It wasn't the most elegant. But it worked. The moment it became real was the first distribution. Revenue from an operating solar plant, flowing on-chain, into wallets, on a fixed schedule. That was the proof. From there, things started to compound. More assets. Better diligence. Stronger operator relationships. Every iteration taught us something. Today the system looks very different: - 25+ operating assets across multiple countries - Consistent distributions over 18+ months - Double-digit realized returns The scaffolding has changed completely. But the core idea remains: Take capital. Connect it directly to operating infrastructure. Let the cashflow speak for itself. Everything since has been built on top of that. The question we started with - where do you actually put capital to work on-chain - has an answer now. The work is scaling it.
