“From what I am told the Bucks are yet to receive an offer they’re willing to accept for Giannis which is somewhat what happened at the trade deadline… I am told they intend to trade him by the draft, I think it’s possible they don’t find a deal they like Miami has been the team that’s been most aggressive and trying to get him. But they have 7/8 different pieces they can trade and none of them I consider super premium. I think the Bucks probably want all of them” — @WindhorstESPNom Giannis

Amick says here that the Bucks may want to keep Jaylen, and that the Celtics don’t want to give anything up on top of him. This also may give clarity to why Spears made it known that Jaylen doesn’t want to play in Milwaukee. But yeah Amick, like Simmons, doubled down.

Are the Celtics in on Giannis? "100%. Absolutely." - MassLive's @BrianTRobb told @FelgerAndMazz

@TA1297 And to me this is why the Boston talk slowed down. What else is Boston gonna offer? It’s not ongoing. Now it’s on the Heat to try to beat Boston’s offer (if it is JB). No point in rushing it, bucks are gonna leverage both teams for everything they can.

I keep saying there is a pretty straightforward Lauri Markkanen for Ausar Thompson trade to be made here.

@StoolGreenie Greenie dude give it up

Top-15 players in the NBA heading into 2027

1). Blazers have interest in 5-time All Star Brown, per credible mainstream media. 2). While new Blazers owner Tom Dundon is famously frugal on business operations side, he has made clear, with words and actions in Carolina (NHL), that he spends whatever it takes on players. 3). You can be sure Joe Cronin wants to impress the new owner. 4). This is exactly the type of swing-for-the-fences trade that a play-in team like Portland should be making in a loaded West.

The Celtics should be viewed as the favorite to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo, because they have the ability to do what the Heat can’t — retrieve their draft picks from the Blazers. If Boston decides to make Jaylen Brown available, Portland appears ready to act on a blockbuster.

The Miami Heat are reportedly ‘genuinely concerned’ about the Boston Celtics, per @JakeLFischer “Rival teams, furthermore, continue to point to Boston's various assets as illustrating its ability to become a factor here. They also note that Antetokounmpo shares a skills coach with Jayson Tatum (Drew Hanlen) and is believed to have a level of interest in landing with the Celtics on top of his well-chronicled affinity for Miami…This much is clear: Boston is believed to be a potential suitor that genuinely concerns Miami.” (Via substack.com/redirect/2/eyJ…)
