Finished 5-5 after Rd1 2A loss to MF. We are so very proud of this group. From 1-8 last year to what was accomplished. This season is a tribute to our seniors' efforts to redirect the ship. Got us headed back in the right direction.
“Anybody can hit homers in BP. Especially to the pull side. Line drives turn into home runs in the game. You might have a boring BP but your stats aren’t boring.” Freddie Freeman

Ted Williams wipes away tears as he chats with star after star, fans stand & watch. Ten minutes pass. Then 15. Officials from MLB move in on the spontaneous scene, attempt to break it up so that the game isn't delayed.
Williams asks Gwynn to lean in so he can ask him a question.
"When you foul a ball off, do you smell burnt wood?" Williams asks.
"All the time," Gwynn responds.
"I did too," Williams says, grinning proudly.
This is EXACTLY what I was referring to in my tweet yesterday about players knowing how to play the game.
Today's athletes are:
• Bigger
• Faster
• Stronger
• More Talented
But, they (generally) don't have the Baseball IQ needed.
Our job as coaches is to TEACH them!
Hitting Routine
Instead of scrolling on your phone during the bus ride to the game, let’s change that habit to something more productive.
1. Visualization
2. Meditation
3. Watch personal highlight reel
Routines are important.
Just make sure the routine benefits you.

Coming off a state title, there's a lot of change for @saint_teresa this season.
A new head coach in @brit_miller_td, not playing in a conference and a lot of roster turnover.
But no matter what's thrown their way, the Dawgs are ready to repeat.

PSA: MLB hitters struck out very rarely as HS aged players. They were future MLB hitters as amateurs because they had something called "innate timing". Less than 1 strikeout per 15 at bats would be the goal in HS and Travel Ball.
Here is a portion of Jacob Stallings pregame receiving work (Heavy Ball Location Receiving)
Notice how he transitions into whatever set up he wants to use for each “pitch” instead of just sitting in the same set up the entire set of flips.
