**No, it doesn't affect dogs (or most other animals) the same way.** The video is talking about alpha-gal syndrome — the red meat allergy triggered by lone star tick (and some other ticks) bites in humans. Dogs, cats, and other non-primate mammals naturally produce alpha-gal as part of their own biology, so their immune systems don't react to it by creating that allergy. There are essentially no documented cases of dogs developing red meat allergy from tick bites for this reason. Ticks *can* still transmit other serious diseases to dogs (like ehrlichiosis or anaplasmosis), so tick prevention for pets is still very important.
