THREAD Hello Everyone! My name is Lark. For those of you who may not know who I am, I’m the soul proprietor of Straylight Studio. I’m writing to all of you because I’ve been sitting on a decision for months now and today, October 1st, 2024, it has finally come to fruition.

Thank you 1,000 times over to every last one of you that have been supportive of the studio and patient with me as I learned and grew. I’m seriously so very grateful. Of course, if there are any questions regarding the studio closure, feel free to reach put to me directly. 💚💙

So. I hope that as Straylight Studio’s story comes to an end, you’ll all stay tuned for what’s in the wings as 2024 wraps up and we head into 2025!

I didn’t want to catch up and then go right back to doing the same thing. It didn’t motivate me and frankly just made me want to…stop. Im ready for a change. I’m ready for a freshen up and a new venture.

But starting in June I finally started to look into my stubborn streak and the actual plausibility of revitalization. After a great deal of reflection and back and forthing, I came to a simple truth that stung a bit but also took a weight from my shoulders.

For the longest time, I fought on under the belief I could bring the studio back and it would be better than ever! Despite not having taken commissions in almost 3 years, I was still convinced I could catch up and revitalize.

Running this little business has been a learning experience and then some. I spent YEARS convinced that I could pull myself up and revive the studio after digging a pretty deep hole overloading myself with commissions and falling into the trap that is ‘I can do EVERYTHING’

All folks that are still owed work will be receiving it if they haven’t already. Rest assured! The studios social medias will remain active as archives after the last handful of on queue items are posted.

Straylight Studio is permanently closed. I did not make this decision lightly and while I am excited for future things, it’s not without a bit of heartache that I went through with this decision.

We are working slowly towards a full reboot of the studio on all fronts! Our first step is moving away from this particular social media platform. Please feel free to follow us elsewhere. The hint is in the name!

⭐️ Will you be bringing the studio to conventions and events in the future? No. Part of the reformatting of the studio that I’ve been working on has been coming to the terms that, as much as I want them to be, conventions are not lucrative to the studio.

⭐️ Is Straylight Studio done? No. Due to personal and day job reasons, I have been VERY sparse in the studio since basically the beginning of February. The remainder of March is going to remain very hectic, but then I will be back to it! (THREAD)
