Serious question 🙋‍♂️ I never understood why rappers carry around bags of physical cash. Seems unbelievably impractical coupled with an unnecessary security risk? If you carry physical cash you are literally lighting money on fire. 🔥 Put it in the market and let it compound out or at the very least in an account earning interest. I just don’t understand that thought process behind this common practice. When I see people taking photos with large duffle bags of money, I automatically assume they won’t have it for long.

@tonyannett If you look at *all* the cases, the track record is catastrophic. Cherry-picking is a cheap fallacy. Even in the supposed successes you cite, the result of your cherry-picking, there was repression, corruption, massive debt, and the misappropriation of resources.

Nearly every successful case of rapid industrialization - Germany, Russia, Japan, Korea, China - was state directed.
