Today we recognized World Lymphedema Day in the City of Corner Brook!
Lymphedema is a chronic and debilitating disease, characterized by an accumulation of lymphatic fluid that causes swelling of the arms, legs or other areas of the body and which can cause disfigurement, disabilities, discomfort, pain and distress and impair quality of life.
Lymphedema is estimated to affect 14,800 people across Newfoundland and Labrador.
