The displays immerse visitors in the rich natural and cultural history of the park. Visitors learn about the forces that shaped the gorge, the park’s biodiversity, and the economic and environmental impacts of railroads and mining in the region.

Last week, Design Minds attended the grand opening of new exhibits at one of America’s newest national parks— New River Gorge National Park & Preserve! TDM planned and designed exhibits in the Canyon Rim Visitor Center.

This week our team is celebrating the opening of a new exhibit, 'Power & Light: Russell Lee's Coal Survey,' at the National Archives Museum in Washington, DC. 🧵

Last week we traveled to William Howard Taft National Historic Site, the birthplace of our 27th president and 10th Chief Justice. TDM is creating a new experience inside the historic home. Never before seen artifacts, documents, & new interactive elements will explore his legacy.

4. Petersburg National Battlefield in Petersburg, VA - Petersburg National Battlefield recognizes the U.S. Colored Troops who fought during the Siege of Petersburg. At the start of the Civil War, this site was had the largest number of free Blacks of any Southern city.

3. National Museum of African American Music, One Nation Under a Groove in Nashville, TN - In the only museum dedicated to preserving & celebrating music created and inspired by African Americans, this exhibit documents the history and influence of R&B at the end of World War II.

Today marks the first day of #BlackHistoryMonth. We encourage everyone to visit sites that help preserve and share the rich history and culture of Black and African American communities. At TDM, we're honored to be a part of sharing & interpreting these stories and experiences.

Meanings of the Memorial [Accessibility]-We worked with NPS & accessibility experts to design exhibits at the FDR Memorial in Washington, DC. The exhibits explore FDR's presidency and legacy through new graphics, Braille translations, audio description, and tactiles models.
