Even if you solve the ownership 'paper trail', there are bigger risks such as regulatory risk (e.g. Binance being banned in the UK) as well as loss of access to the private keys.
#Bitcoin was built to be anonymous, so proving ownership for SMSF purposes is gonna be tricky!

Proving ownership of crypto assets is tricky. I've lost track of the number of people wanting to use something like Binance for their SMSF.

6 member #smsf bill has been passed by the Senate this morning without amendment. NCC bring forward changes for individuals aged 65 & 66 also passed. Govt agreed to 2 One Nation amendments. Removal of ECC charge for some members & the recontribution of COVID-19 withdrawals.
