If Her Majesty’s Opposition party has been infiltrated by saboteurs who successfully threw an election, then democracy itself has been sabotaged. Whyis that not a national scandal?

🇨🇺🇨🇳 Incredible story. A Chinese girl was filming on a street in Cuba. An old man sitting at her window called out to her. When she approached, the man was in very poor health, but he began to talk to her and told her that he had studied in China and served in the Chinese Air Force, and showed her the documents that proved it. The girl went to the Chinese Embassy and told them about him, and they went to see him. Afterwards, a delegation from the Chinese Air Force came and paid tribute to him.

Iran has never contemplated to initiate an unprovoked attack on Europe. Israel, on the other hand, has spent decades theorising what’s dubbed the “Samson Option". Israeli military historian Martin van Creveld put it bluntly back in 2003: " We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force… We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under.” Now, who poses a real threat to the world. A country that has only ever fought defensive wars, or an expansionist apartheid regime with a documented record of genocide that's openly prepared to turn on its own allies the moment support wavers?

When Eisenhower was asked why the United States did not allow the 1956 Vietnamese reunification elections agreed upon at Geneva, he answered with unusual honesty. He said that if elections were held, Hồ Chí Minh would win with approximately 80 percent of the vote. So they cancelled the elections. Think about that every time an American politician talks about "spreading democracy." They cancelled the democratic election because the "wrong" person would win. They then spent the next two decades killing people to prevent the government that would have been democratically elected from taking power. And they called the other side anti-democratic. This is not ancient history. This is the logic that still governs every "democracy promotion" operation today. Democracy is acceptable when it produces the "right" results. When it does not, you cancel the election, back a coup, fund the opposition, impose sanctions, and call the government that the people actually chose a "dictatorship." Vietnam exposed this logic completely. Not with arguments. With history. With the receipts.

What this war has exposed is that a lot of these so-called right-wing ‘populists’ who rage against ‘the left-wing establishment’ are not really ‘for the people’ at all. They don’t seem to care a jot for us ordinary folk who face another cost of living crisis due to spiralling energy & fuel costs- but only patronise us by telling us it’s ’a very small price to pay’. For them it might be ‘a very small price’, - but not for us.

This American teenager gets it: “We don’t have money for universal healthcare or to make sure kids don’t go hungry in this country, but apparently we have $11.3 billion fucking dollars to burn in 7 days to start a war nobody ask for to bomb innocent school children, twice.”

We are now being advised to change our behaviour in energy use. 1. Don't drive? 2. Don't turn on the light or heating? 3. Turn off the leccy and gas in factories and hospitals? Or maybe: 1. Don't start illegal wars 2. Accelerate the turn to renewables

Some of the medical aid I’ve brought directly with me to Cuba, as Trump tries to strangle the Cuban people. Today we’ll be receiving tonnes more as the Nuestra America Aid Convoy arrives. Aid is arriving all the time from Britain thanks to solidarity. Donate to Viva Cuba below.

In a speech to the EU Parliament, German MEP Christine Anderson warns that under-16 social media bans are merely a pretext to connect online activity to a digital ID. "The EU wants to scan private messages sent from your phone. They say it's about illegal material online, but in practice it means scanning everything that people say." "It would inevitably require identifying every user through digital ID." "That is called surveillance. And putting one's own citizens under surveillance is the practice best known in totalitarian regimes."

Such a coward turning off comments. I watched the committee stage. Kim Leadbeater & others voted to remove safeguards for various non-terminal disabilities, incl autism, diabetes, anorexia & Down’s syndrome. Why would a bill ONLY for the terminally ill need to do that?

Absolutely right from Lord Pannick. Scrutiny & debate is welcome, but having sat through many of these long debates in the unelected chamber what we have seen repeatedly over the last few months has gone far beyond this. All terminally ill people want is choice & dignity😔

Against the will of the British public, Keir Starmer has dragged the UK into another illegal war in the Middle East, and put us at risk of Iranian retaliation. He is nothing but a pound-shop Blair. How are Labour MPs allowing this? Did they learn absolutely nothing from Iraq?
