@SpellColIector “Oh, w-well… if it’s not too much trouble, that would be wonderful, thank you…” Suki poked her fingers together bashfully. “I haven’t always been the most keen, either, I’m afraid. I don’t think I would have noticed a curse placed upon me.

Her eyes rested on a flyer in hand, lacrima phone in the other. A few buttons later, she dialed the number on the flyer to call @SpellColIector.

@SpellColIector “Huh….” She blinked a few times, slightly taken aback at the thought. “I’ve… never thought of it like that.” Suki then furrowed her brows and pushed up her glasses while thinking it over for a moment. “I don’t think so… but how do I know for sure?”

@Transmxte “If good luck has eluded you this long, then surely that must mean you’re due for some,” she replied with a smile, only for the curious expression to come back. “You haven’t had a curse put on you or anything, have you?”

@SpellColIector “Oh, I, uh…” She rubbed the back of her neck as she tried to find the right words without sounding too overly pathetic. “…I suppose I’m just prone to bad luck. Nothing really ever goes how I want. Quite the opposite, actually.”

@Transmxte “Never?” Lyriel turned toward Suki with a curious expression. “What makes you say that? If you don’t mind me asking.”

@SpellColIector “I see….” Suki nodded and watched intently, her eyes on the aforementioned fight below. “Luck is always nice to have, I bet. I’ve never been on the good side of things to really experience it….”

@Transmxte magic out of anyone in the tournament. But with resourcefulness and luck, she’s managed to get all the way to the finals. I was probably her biggest doubter. But sometimes it’s not so bad to be proven wrong.”

@SpellColIector —point of interest. “So… Um.. Who is this person of yours that is fighting?”

@SpellColIector She groaned quietly as she realized that Lyriel may be a bit more focused on other things at the moment. That wasn’t out of the ordinary for Suki, however. With a small sigh, she straightened up and fixed her hair as best she could before turning her attention to Lyriel’s—

@SpellColIector —simply sat there, still frozen from the flight from hell moments before. “…….is it over…..” She whispered quietly.

@SpellColIector —now clutching onto Lyriel’s slender arm for dear life. Hyperventilating. Eyes squished shut as hard as she could. Thankfully, it was over just as quickly as it began. Plopped into her seat beside the spellcaster, hair a tangled mess and eyes still closed tight— the purplette—

@SpellColIector —lips as she gently shook the other woman’s hand. “It’s a pleasure, Ms. Lyriel. Is there anything I can help you with?”

@SpellColIector Suki was holding her breath that entire time, nervous from the awkward air that followed her introduction. When Lyriel finally replied, one could see the purplette’s relief as clear as day as she exhaled a deep sigh, shoulders relaxing immediately. A small smile crept on her—

@SpellColIector “——?!?” She nearly jumped out of her skin. Suki quickly scrambled to her feet and immediately bowed her head to the other woman while her heart attempted to calm down. “Gomen—! I-I’m Suki Nakamori. I called a little while ago about the assistant position here….”

@Transmxte “Can I help you?” Lyriel said, standing next to the woman. Exactly how long she’d been there quietly observing the anxious stranger was impossible to tell.

@SpellColIector “Absolutely!” She has now been sitting outside since Wednesday but is too anxious to knock on the door. “Etto… hopefully…. someone will pass by eventually…” 💧

@Transmxte “Excellent. Julius is currently in the middle of organizing a tournament of sorts. I’m sure he could use a hand with that. Could be at the guild by, let’s say…Wednesday?”

@SpellColIector “I-Immediately!” She quickly blurted out without thinking. Oh no, that probably sounded desperate… “I mean… I’m free at your earliest convenience.”

@Transmxte “That’s all we could ask. It wouldn’t be often, and I’m sure Julius would leave a lesson plan for you to follow to make it easy.” He probably would, anyway…right? “Well, it sounds to me like you’d be a great fit. When can you start?”

@SpellColIector “A substitute?” Sweating. “I… I can certainly try my best..! I’ve never taught a class before, and I’m not sure if others would listen to me… But I will do whatever is needed of me!”

@Transmxte teach a class, he may need you to step in as a substitute. Is that something you think you could do?”

@SpellColIector —oh my gosh I hope that’s okay for me to say, I’m sorry! I just— I’ve been looking for something more fulfilling, then I came across your job, a-and it felt like divine timing, and…” She continued on and on, anxiousness causing her words to spill out like a secret diary entry.

@SpellColIector “H-Hai!” Relief washed over her like rainfall after a prolonged drought. “My name is Suki Nakamori, and I have been doing admin work for the Magic Council for the past 3 years. However…. the environment has become a bit… lackadaisical in their approach to timely matters…—

@SpellColIector “Hello…” Her voice was small and uncertain, but she powered through with determination. “I am inquiring about the job offer you put out for an assistant for Julius Grandeur. Is this still available?” {Please gods please I can’t take the rejection please say yes}

@Transmxte Though unaware that fliers with her personal number on them had been distributed, Lyriel saw the unfamiliar number on her caller ID, and answered anyway. “Hello?”
