Imagine a world where every color is vibrant with the promise of hope and joy. This world was brought to life on November 24, 2023, during the Annual ECD Celebration as we celebrated in rainbow colours.

Understanding labour law and all HR matters is complex but important for all who run organisations, no matter how big or small. The principals were provided with a toolkit containing all documents and procedures related to HR and IR (industrial relation) matters.

In partnership with the Vrygrond ECD Forum (VEF), we held an Early Childhood Development (ECD) Parent Information Day. The early years of a child are vital and it offers a window of opportunity to shape a child's holistic development and build a foundation for their future.

After a year of planning KIM Educare's build is underway in Overcome Heights! Principal Nosabatha is overjoyed that her pre-school has reached this milestone. A big thank you to our partner, @BreadlineAfrica for making this possible.

12 principals completed an 8-week Art Process Workshop focusing on caring for the carer through art as language of the soul. Thank you to the wonderful facilitator, Cynthia Hutchinson.

It warms our hearts to see how children are learning through the different methods of activities in the classroom.

It was lovely to receive a visit from Frans this week. We love that you show such an interest in the work that we are doing and we really appreciate the support that we receive from Stitching Mzamomhle and Wilde Ganzen.I

Three ECD's in Overcome Heights had a visit from the Executive Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis & Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews, together with their team. They came to learn more about the infrastructure challenges that faced these ECD's and solutions that have been found to address them.

It is amazing to see the excitement on the faces of the RPL students as they embark on a new journey of college life. We wish them all the best with their studies!

We had the pleasure of spending time with the Irish team from the Freeland Project. It was great discussing their upcoming projects and our team enjoyed sharing a delicious lunch with them. Thank you to Frank, Jim-Bob, and Bryan for the treat!

Another group of educators has completed their Level 4 through the Recognition of Prior Learning. Quality learning is increasing each year and we are proud to announce that 84% of principals in Vrygrond and Overcome Heights have at least a Level 4 qualification in ECD.

On behalf of all the young children at the pre-schools in Vrygrond and Overcome Heights, we would like to say A BIG THANK YOU to the Lions Club Fish Hoek for the yummy Easter eggs. All the children had more than enough from the 3400 marshmallow eggs that were provided. Thank you!

Through our partnership with Children's Institute, University of Cape Town, we had a special visit from Boston University, Centre for Innovation in Social Work and Health. They have embarked on a research project entitled, Building a Knowledge Base for the Prevention of Violence.

A big thank you to our partner Breadline Africa for their recent porridge donation which will provide 944 children attending pre-school in Vrygrond and Overcome Heights with breakfast for 2 months! Your support is greatly appreciated!
