Two women get married. One becomes the “husband” The other becomes the “wife” Now pause. If you reject the man-woman structure, but then recreate it inside the relationship, what exactly changed? One dresses masculine, leads, protects, proposes, plays the dominant role. The other becomes softer, receptive, “the wife,” the one being led. So the structure is still there. Just different actors. You removed the man… then assigned someone to play him. You removed the woman… then assigned someone to perform her role. That’s the contradiction. If gender roles don’t matter, why recreate them? If masculinity and femininity are irrelevant, why split into them? If equality is the goal, why rebuild opposite poles? You can’t say “there’s no man and woman here” while running the relationship on man-and-woman dynamics. Either the structure was the problem… or it wasn’t. But you can’t reject it and reproduce it at the same time.

This morning, I mistakenly used my wife’s toothbrush to brush my teeth. Her toothbrush has white bristles, while mine is red. They both have similar containers, so the only way to tell them apart is by the colour of the bristles. I was in a hurry and didn’t look properly, so I picked up her toothbrush without realizing it. When I was about to put it back, she saw me and immediately got angry. She turned from the bed and asked, “Why did you use my toothbrush?” I was shocked because I wasn’t expecting that kind of reaction. We’re husband and wife—we kiss regularly—so I didn’t think it was a big deal if we accidentally used each other’s toothbrush. To be honest, since we got married, we’ve never used each other’s toothbrush before. My wife got up angrily, took the toothbrush, broke it, threw it in the dustbin, then went downstairs and came back with a new one. She even put it in her handbag. Now I’m wondering; Is it wrong for a husband and wife who kiss regularly to use the same toothbrush?

I recall early into my last relationship, the love was so sweet. My Ex asked me - "Where have you been all my life"??? 1 year later, we both have gone back to where we've been all our lives. 😂

My sister, who’s also in healthcare here in the state, lost her first patient. It was the very first time she experienced a loss like that. She had to perform CPR by herself for 5 minutes before EMS arrived. On her way home, she called me, no response. She then called my brother (a doctor), no response either. She couldn’t go home. She said she didn’t want to be alone, so she drove to a friend’s house and stayed there. She just wanted to talk to us about it. She knew we had experienced this before and could help her process how she was feeling. But none of us picked up her calls. She finally spoke with me today, and I felt terrible. She took a whole week off work because she couldn’t bring herself to go back. I told her it does get better, but she’ll never forget her first loss. My first CPR. I can still remember the cracking sounds my patient’s ribs made as I pressed down. It’s been five years since mine, and I still remember it clearly. 5 ribs were broken as we did rigorous CPR. Being a healthcare worker takes a heavy toll on us. No amount of training can fully prepare you for that. Now add being a soldier to it all, and there you’ll find me, Sgt Show. Trained to nurse and take life.
