Congratulations to the UCS Hans Woyda team for their 27 - 20 win against the Cardinal Vaughan School! This puts them in the Plate Final!

This week, the Lower School Mathematicians are celebrating Global Connectivity and exploring international mathematical methods! We have heard some brilliant student presentations including multiplication with chopsticks and Australian squaring!

Every Thursday morning this term, aspiring Oxbridge Economists, Computer Scientists, Physicists and Engineers are undergoing Maths interview practice in the AKO Classroom! This week, students were tasked with sketching y=xsin(x) and y=sin(x^2)

This week saw the FINAL of the Shell Team Maths Challenge! Five teams battled it out, hoping to lead their houses to victory! The results will be announced in next week's Lower School assembly!

Congratulations to Haouxan, Samir, Jake and Yash who won the opening round of the Hans Woyda Mathematics Competition hosted at the City of London School for Girls.

Big thanks to Dr Zangwill for his super interesting mathematics talk on Computability! A fascinating insight into this growing field of mathematics.

@AQA The advance information for the Level 3 certificate in mathematics (Core maths) states that it is for Paper 1 only. Are we to expect advance information for paper 2+3 at a later point, or to assume that there will be no AI for these papers?

Enrichment week for Maths has concluded with a team maths challenge for Shell. Competition is fierce as the houses battle it out for podium positions. The results will be announced next week!

Next week, all Entry and Shell students will be participating in the national Junior Maths Challenge - good luck to all involved!

We are excited to hear from LSE lecturer Dr Katirzoglou on Thursday, who will deliver her lecture to UCS students: The Riemann Integral and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. All are welcome to attend!

Even during lockdown, our Transitus Further Mathematicians are busy with Cambridge entrance-standard STEP questions. Working through the problems at home, students add solutions to the virtual mini-whiteboards. A great way to connect with the class and their calculations!
