A fantastic day at Bath Uni for our Sports Day. The children completed field events in the morning before a range of ‘track’ races in the afternoon. Congratulations to our winners Apollo! #Bethebestyoucanbe

@landatthebottom In response to this thread, I would like to state that it a choice of the schools to host our Sports Day at Bath Uni as to provide an enriching experience for our children. We have a good relationship with the Rec and use them for other sporting events throughout the year.

The Widdy school children are being bused to the university for a sports day. They used to walk along the river path to the Rec, but that is no longer possible since the land (that was left to us all) has been taken over by a professional sports company.

Year 2 were kindly invited to Widcombe Junior School to meet the author Laura Ellen Anderson. They enjoyed hearing her read an extract from one of her books and explored the characters in the book. @PalladianTrust @WidcombeJuniors @Lillustrator @FarshoreBooks

Day 3 - If you'd taken a wander through our school classrooms today, you'd have seen so many wonderful pieces of art being produced, inspired by our Book Week books! In Year 6, it was all on the theme of the tiger. Year 4 had a trip down memory lane in the Okavango Delta. 📚

Day 2 Book Week - we've had some wonderful parent visitors today, talking about their work in books, both as authors and publishers, a vist from @Bathscape talking about their work in our local environment and conservationists from @chesterzoo talking Y3 about rainforests.

Day One of Book Week done! It's been a brilliant day - the author of our Book Week books, @catherine_barr ,  has been in school leading workshops all day on four of her books: The Fourteen Wolves, The Tiger's Tale, The Story of Conservation and Let's Save the Okavango Delta. 📚
