Yesterday, Mayor Brandon Whipple read the Indigenous People’s Day proclamation at the City Council meeting. Our program Princess, Julia (Ponca/Hidatsa), senior at @WichitaSEHS, attended along with Sophia (Kiowa) & Violet (Kiowa), students from Adams Elementary. #wpsproud

Join us for our first Super Saturday of the school year next Saturday, September 23rd! Super Saturdays are our monthly cultural events geared toward the elementary-age students in our program. 10am-12pm at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum.

Yesterday, we visited Truesdell Middle school for our first school presentation of the 2023-2024 school year! 😄 It was great to be back in the classroom and the students were very engaged and had some great questions. #WPSproud

Recently at Super Saturday, KG-5th students made beaded chokers and played American Indian-themed bingo. At Fellowship Night our middle and high school students learned how to add fringe to shawls and the importance of working together as a community. #WPSproud

Last Friday, at @MayberryMMS we were fortunate along with our '22-'23 NAIEP Princess and community members to showcase a Native American dance exhibition. Thank you, Mayberry, for providing the opportunity to share our culture! #wpsproud

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month by supporting our Native youth in @WichitaUSD259 by attending "Native American Storytelling: Bringing the Stories to the Stage." We've partnered with @ArtsPartnersICT and can't wait to share our student's hard work and talent with you all!

Last week we attended the city council meeting where Mayor Brandon Whipple issued & read a proclamation recognizing the 2nd Monday in Oct. as Indigenous Peoples' Day in Wichita. Our '21-'22 NAIEP Princess, Kayci (Cherokee senior at @EastHighAces), represented our program.
