today has been a whirlwind of emotions. thank you, genuinely, to everyone that’s reached out to me today (a former coworker even sent me a milkshake). i’m still going through them all (and will continue to do so). reading how much you all appreciate my work has been so surprising and uplifting on such a shitty day. i’m really, really going to miss making cool stuff happen for our players. that was the guiding principle behind everything i ever did. seeing how many of my former colleagues are as confused as i am about my departure is definitely validating too. i’m very grateful (and thankful) to also already have many studio leads and recruiters reaching out about roles they’d like me for. i’m gonna go grab a beer and watch the rest of the canes game. 💚🦖

You must feel terrible. With your direction Epic spent countless billions on lawsuits and legal fights, IPs , and supporting UEFN AI Slop And what’s even terrible, instead of spending less on Collabs / UEFN Maps or making an actual proper strategy you just start by sacrificing your employees that genuinely cared about the game and the company and built it from the very start. Nothing changed from the first layoffs 2 years ago , same dumb vision and same pointless spending. You act like the industry have a place for a 1K employees , some of these people might take a very long time to find new jobs. You must feel ashamed of yourself

In the coming days, employers will see a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks. An important thing to understand is that Epic never lowered our hiring standards as we grew, and the layoff wasn't a performance-based "rightsizing" as companies call it nowadays. It's a sound bet that anyone with Epic Games on their resume is in the top few percent of their discipline.

I was part of the Epic layoffs today. I worked as a Art Outsource Lead overseeing Fortnite Lego minifigs. I worked on everything from K-Pop DH, to huge streamers and minifigs for the latest Superman movies. If you’re looking for a Outsource Lead, Lead Or Char artist let me know!

This is honestly one of the worst days on my time here on Twitter. I've been away from the community for the past few months , My interest in the game dropped a lot in the past couple of years , i have a lot going on in life But i've been feeling sad , sick , angry and terrible all day couldn't really focus or carry on with anything after i saw the news , i don't even really know why , however i'm truly grateful for all the work and effort and everything these devs have done to us and to this game that i've once loved a lot , it turns out you guys really mattered as much as the game did.. at least for me

The Lead Writer of Epic Games, Nik Blahunka, who worked at Epic Games for over 10 YEARS, contributing to both BR & STW's storylines was laid off today. I feel terrible for him, so many talented people were laid off today. This is all so infuriating. Shame on Sweeney.

Unfortunately, my role was impacted. 7 years on Fortnite now wrapped up. Lots of good people looking for new jobs today. If you know of any that fit my skillset, please let me know

guess who got laid off today! 🫠 i am genuinely so confused and bewildered like, i spent the past week debugging the rivalry system while recovering from pneumonia and just in the past few days i’ve had multiple directors tell me how much they appreciate everything i do

I’ve always found it crazy to pay some guys sitting at home making some weird ass brainrot ai shit thousands and even millions of dollars overall , but firing thousands of employees that actually built that shit Some crazy level management
