What the “Adjusted” Pay Gap Really Shows: The EU’s official gender pay gap is 13.6% (but that only reflects hourly wages). When you include lower employment rates, part-time work, precarious jobs and unpaid care, the real earnings gap rises to 40%. Farmers are struggling with incomes far lower than the EU average, an unequal playing field in global trade, and the consequences of extreme weather events. The EC's decision to merge the CAP and cohesion funds risks pitting farmers and other citizens against each other. The recent tweaks to the national plans are not sufficient. We call for a stand-alone CAP equipped with a robust budget that is commensurate with the challenges, the aspirations and the strategic importance of agriculture. @DarioNardella
