
Let’s be clear - and this is in no way a defense of anyone (thing) but it wasn’t that these people’s jobs were replaced by AI. The company needed cash to fund their bet that customers will need their AI datacenters at some point in the future.
So they sold 30,000 of their people down the river to get the cash they needed. Purely transactional.
This is why I remind people that loyalty is a human emotion and, regardless of what the Supreme Court says, companies are not human so thus have no loyalty. Never offer loyalty to an entity that cannot reciprocate.
