Nobody likes you when you show symptoms of negative mental health. It’s a fact. We can talk all day about ‘mental health matters’ and how important it is, but the moment you are depressed, or show signs of struggling, people start to distance themselves.
They see you as a burden, not a person in pain who needs help.

Sam Waterston’s work as Jack McCoy on Law & Order was so consistently excellent, I still don’t think we as a society have given him the credit he deserves. Waterston played McCoy for 30 years. He joined the show before I was born & played this role longer than I’ve been alive.

A friend of mine sold his company for several hundred million. One random day he called and said he was on his jet flying into Dallas to pick me up so we could fly to Florida and shoot content on his yacht.
When I told him I couldn’t because of work and family obligations, his response was, “Just bring them with you.”
He hasn’t even been wealthy for a decade and is already so far removed from how most people live and think. Now imagine someone who’s been wealthy for 20+ years. That’s the lifestyle gap that wealth creates that most people simply don’t understand.
