@aherofourtime @anhaidule Nah it’s better cut- then it has a double meaning. You can still read it the way it’s written above but you can also just transpose it to the film itself. It’s not a romance because there’s no reciprocation but it’s a story about love

@aherofourtime @anhaidule Too much telling. They did it better in the actual movie. Her look after Bear speaks essentially says that itself, there's no need for a monologue. The simple exchange is a quick way to show their difference in opinion on love, and foreshadows Bear's mindset. I think so, anyway.

@andycollins6768 @XanderhalTV and "you" don't change people's minds, people change their own minds because of your actions, so even nikki friendzoned bear, she might have changed her idea after bear confessed when she asked but he just says no and breaks the willow.

@andycollins6768 @XanderhalTV that might be your philosophy for the world but the movie very much implies the wish was cursed because it takes away nikki's free will. the fact that i don't believe in free will doesn't change that.

@andycollins6768 @XanderhalTV but your mom knows and chooses to love you, wish nikki is the projection of bear's fucked up idea of love (and the person who think he loves) overcoming nikki's autonomy so she doesn't know how to love him and does random stuff like cooking his cat which he loved
