BC Independent MLA Jordan Kealy intends to introduce a private member’s bill titled the Health Professions and Occupations Repeal Act, to address longstanding concerns surrounding the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA), scheduled to come into force on April 1, 2026. The HPOA concentrates power in the hands of government and bureaucrats, who will be able to impose mandatory practice standards, codes of conduct, and speech codes on doctors, nurses, and numerous other health professionals.
