Thanks for actually trying to explain it. You are still going against the publisher and author. You are still going against the meaning An Ze gave to the name. You are also flat out telling English readers they are too stupid to see the visual difference between An Ze and An Zhe.

some additional context that went into the carefully considered choice of rendering 安折 as “anzhe” 🧵🪡 firstly, anzhe is not a person, legally or physically. all his documents say an ze, and that’s who he’s assumed to be - the name “anzhe” exists only in his head.
