Parents don’t panic if the interest you want isn’t there yet for your child. Don’t be afraid of the JUCO route. For many athletes, JUCO provides a second opportunity to reach the next level. These players come back more experienced, more mature, bigger, and better and college coaches love that. The key is to pick wisely and do your research. There are some very good JUCO programs out there that truly develop players and place them at four year schools. Just understand this: JUCO is not a walk in the park. Your child’s mindset has to be stronger than ever. The grind is real, the competition is real, and accountability is high but the reward can be worth it if they stay locked in. Stay patient.
