@Mr_Andrew_Fox We know Trump has done some un-Christian things in his life but the Pope is no peacemaker. Iran bragged to two diplomats about having enough uranium to potentially create 11 nuclear bombs. Waiting until millions of people are bombed then responding is not peaceful.

We had the same problem with the industrial, agricultural revolutions and there were successful job replacements. Will be interesting to see what jobs will replace things this time, sees like even Elon doesn't know.

The ai is creating a strange world when it comes to 'means of production'. Those who control the means of production will no longer need to hire thousands of employees. Almost shell companies with just a couple dozen top-level leaders, some lawyers, and then ai/manufacturing.

@michelletandler but if companies don’t hire them then they’ll never get that work training/experience. Basically American companies try to save money by never training Americans and just hiring people who were trained by foreign companies.

@michelletandler I feel very sad for the ones no longer working and glad for the ones getting work. It definitely is not a skill issue, recent tech grads struggle to find jobs because of a circular problem: companies don’t want them unless they already have work experience/training…

Just spoke with a manager of a restaurant in NYC. She said that since the ICE raids began 100 employees have stopped coming in to work (~30% of their staff.) She said they are hiring ppl without experience to backfill. Thoughts?
