I appreciate Anthropic, but let’s not pretend they’re the apex of AI ethics.

Don’t make the mistake of trusting AI to cover for you. Better yet, just do what’s right in the first place.

Handing over things to AI sounds great until you experience the consequences of those things being done wrong. Before you trust AI, please make sure you’ve thoroughly considered what could go wrong and have plans in place to mitigate the risks.

To all the parents out there.

Nothing says leadership like creating and sharing an AI-generated video of you flying a fighter jet and bombing the people you’re responsible for leading with feces because they refuse to blindly approve of and affirm everything you do.

The founding of the United States was literally the result of our first ‘No Kings’ movement. You’re free to agree or disagree with the ‘No Kings’ movement, which ironically is one of the benefits of our founding principles, but it’s foolish to call it anti-American.

If you wish more had been done to shut down the protests that occurred today and “taken care of” the people who were involved in them, it’s worth examining how much you actually understand the principles the US was built on and whether you actually believe in them yourself.

More and more companies are trusting AI to churn out code at the speed of light. People with no clue how to write or even read code are building and launching apps in an afternoon created by a one-shot prompt. What could possibly go wrong?

AI amplifies everything beyond anything you can imagine. So, the good will get exponentially better. The bad will get exponentially worse.

It’s not about creating a universal list of what use-cases for AI are “good” or “bad.” It’s about recognizing the complexity of what we’re dealing with and making intentional decisions considering as many risks and opportunities as possible along the way.
