I love eating. I love looking and feeling like a woman. I love having a BMI in the 20s. I love nourishing my body and feeling Venusian. Anorexia nervosa is not a beauty trend, it is a serious illness, but the sudden aestheticization of underweight bodies is. And as the fallout from things like the Jeffrey Epstein scandal demands mature feminine wisdom — women thinking clearly, using our discernment and our voices — the aestheticization of bodies associated with arrested development and a disorder that literally shrinks the brain should worry us. Frailty is not femininity.

I’m pretty sure there are historical examples (or maybe ones I read in research) of popular individuals developing anorexia and subsequently an entire area / city of young girls develops it. It’s genuinely just contagious

i can’t get this thought out of my head that the media is pushing every famous woman to become extremely thin again, like there’s some weird cultural reset happening. sometimes it genuinely feels like they’re trying to normalize looking like you’re barely eating… almost like they’re subconsciously preparing us for a future where food is scarce, like a war or some kind of apocalypse.
