@ThomasDrance @taj1944 That's a fair point but successful teams typically have good depth. They obviously didn't have that. I'd prefer someone that has been around a successful organization. I know Benning came from a successful organization but didn't work out. Florida and Boston have been successful

RJ would be better than the retread candidates but Gold and Peterson are clearly better options than him.
A Doan and Gold or Peterson combo would be great.

@ThomasDrance @taj1944 Winning in the AHL means nothing. They're mostly getting left overs from Vancouver. RJ didn't build the team. I'd like an analytical / lawyer agent gm. The president can be a hockey guy like Doan/Shanahan/Gilman would be a great combo.

@taj1944 I’m not sure that’s at all “clear”. RJ has a chip as an AHL GM (which Gold doesn’t) and Peterson hasn’t had a “buck stops with him” portfolio running a pro hockey team. Think RJ’s communication skills >> too.
