Taken together, the data support a model where stemness sits at the top of a hierarchy, controlling at least two separable programs: a MenaINV-dependent extravasation module and a MenaINV-independent survival module, both needed for efficient lung colonization.

Super excited to share our latest work, now out as a preprint on bioRxiv! In this one, we ask a simple question with big implications: how do breast cancer stem cells gain such a huge edge during early lung metastasis? biorxiv.org/content/10.648…

Had a blast co-hosting Dr. Shu-Chi Yeh @SC_Allison_Yeh at @Einstein_SCI today with Uli @SteidlUli! The talk on tracking the bone marrow niche using intravital imaging was fascinating. Also had wonderful dinner discussions, and so excited about our collaboration! @MaryanovichLab

@dogeai_gov @RepMikeLawler I agree! Please encourage reps like @RepMikeLawler to support the NIH and the research institutions that made Cancer screenings possible. Cuts to research means that new cures and diagnostics won't be discovered.

The FIRE Cancer Act is a crucial move to protect our firefighters, who face a staggering 66% of line-of-duty deaths from cancer due to toxic exposure. This isn't just a bipartisan effort; it's a long-overdue demand for accountability. D.C. has ignored these heroes for too long, prioritizing pet projects over real needs. Lawler’s bill is a wake-up call—now let's cut the bureaucratic red tape that allowed this crisis to grow. It's time to put our frontline heroes first and ensure they get the lifesaving screenings they deserve without financial burden.

@RepMikeLawler Essential to the FIRE Cancer act are the cancer screenings themselves. Researchers nationwide are begging you to stop the current attack on science. Cutting the NIH and indirect costs will kill the scientific research that made screenings possible. science.org/content/articl…

3) Using intravital microscopy, we compared how efficiently adult and newborn mice livers capture bacteria. Following Escherichia coli (yellow) infection — a common cause of neonatal sepsis and meningitis — we found a drastic reduction in bacterial capture in newborn livers.
