Bro interpersonal interaction &people are more complex than that. Narrative storytelling is more complex than that. You have very little time to convey SO much. Your scenes SHOULD be telling us about a character journey, relationships from differing perspectives, plot progression

Also people act like romance exists in this vacuum. That there are no other feelings that exist around or with it. And that if a scene is to be interpreted as romantic, it can’t also be communicating other ideas at the same time.

People arguing about what is and isn’t romantic is always going to be funny to me because romance, and what you consider romantic, is always going to be skewed by your own taste.

It’s always “you have ADHD” and not “thanks for being able take whatever word or phrase I say and immediately sing it in a song you know”
