@ty_olsen As someone who’s married to a teacher who hasn’t heard a word from her school, I think it’s pretty simple: they haven’t got a clue how many teachers will call in sick (or stay home with a sick kid/partner/etc) on Jan 3.

Lots (as usual) going unsaid by the government. Why Jan. 10, for one? What will be done by then that won't be done by Jan. 3. Or are we just banking on cases decreasing?

For the last year, the B.C. government has been pretty consistent in arguing that schools weren't a vector of transmission, and the science didn't support closing schools before things like restaurants or pubs. So has the science changed? Or has the politics?

@dklass013 Did you see the link I posted for the evacuation alerts for Vernon? About an hour ago I could see candling on the hillside way above Killiney Beach but the smoke is too thick again to see much. I’m sure we’ll see the the glow of the fires when it gets dark.
