@EvenDroppinDime Anyone who doesn't think that was a rape scene concerns me. I clocked it immediately and felt my blood go cold. I personally know three women who have been sexually assaulted (one I dated for 3 years). This was Curry Barker saying, clear as day, THIS ISNT A SEX SCENE.

@unknownm0th Every man, including me, groaned at that moment. I had my own "Nikki" in college that in hindsight I hoped she would have been direct with me that way so I could say it, even if the answer was no (fizzled out in another manner, still not fun). Had the easy layup and choked.

@DustinPutman I guess I meant in regards to the fate of one character. Yeah idk. I respect the technical craft but sometimes even a critical darling isn't my bag. I put it like this. Would I buy Obsession? FUCK YES. Exit 8? Definitely. Backrooms ? I don't think so. May have just not clicked

@easleytw Interesting that you felt it was open-ended. If anything, I assumed a sequel would simply explore the backrooms from a different perspective with fresh characters. I feel like this specific story ends perfectly and mysteriously.

Wanted to like #Backrooms more than I did. It was shot great and a few quietly unsettling moments but since its open endnesesss was obvious for sequels, it ultimately feels unfinished. Compared to it, I preferred #obsession or #exit8 more this year.

Movie theater etiquette is dead. If you can’t go 2 hours without talking, checking your phone, or narrating the plot, wait for it to hit streaming. The rest of us are trying to watch the movie.

Just walked out of Backrooms. Not because of the movie but because every quiet scene was accompanied by the sound of everyone around me having full on conversations. Movie theaters are dying because people who cant shut the fuck up for 2 hours are killing them.
