The biggest mistake you'll make as a new YouTube creator is sharing your YouTube links to groups, friends, and family!
Look, I need to tell you something about starting a faceless YouTube channel that nobody else will talk about. Stop sending your videos to your Nigerian friends and family. I know it sounds harsh, and I know you really want their support.
But here's what actually happens: Your mom clicks the link because she loves you, watches like 30 seconds, then gets distracted by something else. She means well, but that's it. Your girlfriend opens it while she's at work, watches maybe 15 seconds, then closes it because she's busy or it's just not her thing. Your friend clicks it but realizes it's not really his interest, so he bounces.
YouTube sees all this and thinks your video is complete rubbish because your average view duration just crashed. But here's the real problem you're targeting Americans, right? Your content is made for the US audience. But now YouTube thinks your audience is here in Nigeria. The algorithm gets totally confused and starts showing your videos to the wrong people in the wrong country. You've literally killed your own reach before you even got started.
The algorithm doesn't know these people love you personally. It just sees people from Nigeria clicking away super fast, so it stops pushing your video to your actual target audience in America.
Here's what I learned the hard way: Your views should only come from strangers in your target country who genuinely care about your topic. Not people who just care about you as a person. Let the algorithm do its job and find your real audience, those Americans who actually want what you're making.
I know it feels lonely when you're starting out. I know you want your people to see what you're building and be proud of you. But you're not building this channel for your family and friends. You're building it for those people in America who are actively searching for exactly what you're offering. This is a faceless channel, so let the content do all the talking.
Just be patient and trust the process. Your real audience is out there waiting in the US. Let YouTube bring them to you. That's how you actually win this game.
Do you understand?

@thesarmie But how??
I’m interested in a few niches(at least for a start); health, science, ASMR, True Crime.
How do I search up channels(more of new/small ones with much views) in these niches please???
English

@emelletCode None of that lol. Just look into niches that have small channels blowing up

@aliyuofyt How were you able to search up your preferred niche and also they small/new channels with outlier videos(I believe that’s the yardstick to measure a good niche/sub niche) springing up in that niche. Did you use NexLev extension or something else or is there another way. I’m stuck

@mayowaofyt Please can anyone pinpoint me on how to search for new/small channels springing up and doing numbers in a particular niche aside using NexLev Extension??
English

@mayowaofyt I won’t mind Paying for some tools like grok, eleven lab, Claude but paying for an extension like NexLev when I’m just starting out, especially since I won’t be using it much isn’t cool.
I’m really looking for an alternative to NexLev, or a way to search for channels in a niche
English

@sudoSoftAI Then what tool/extensions/guide to search for niches and small/new channels springing out in those niches?? Please I really need one, I’m stuck!

@LeanAdeshola @OlabamideleSun @eddieeizner Have you figured out a way to find new channels springing up in a particular niche??
English

@LeanAdeshola @OlabamideleSun @eddieeizner What resources are you using though??. Videos from YouTube or a course from an instructor?

To be honest, you don't need any extension to find similar channels. You can all do this manually. You just need to be a little smart while doing this.
What you do is:
1. Whenever you find a channel, pick their top-performing video ideas.
2. Look at their video titles.
3. Extract the main keywords from their video titles and paste them into the YouTube search bar.
You will find a lot of different channels posting the same type of videos.

@ope_dave Please how do you search for niche(s) and similar channels in the said niche?
NexLev ext has a “similar channels” feature that helps in discovering channels but it’s paid. Any alternative I can use to check out similar channels/niches?.
I’ve been stuck trying to find a niche
