When I was maybe 8 someone refused me candy because I didn’t make eye contact. I’m autistic, and didn’t understand eye contact was a thing NT people expected until I was ~12. Trick or treating was overwhelming enough without people like that. The memory still bothers me.

Hey so pls do NOT force kids to say “trick or treat” My son is non-verbal and gets VERY frustrated when ppl turn him down for candy bc he didn’t say it My bf every year brings him large sized candy bars bc we already know ppl will turn him down. Be adults pls
