@robin_faraj As ex-agency owner for 8 years who worked with Nike, Apple, FIFA and others...
The easiest way to find clients for your agency is doing more work for brands. Go do work for noticable brands for free, go in negative, become noticable -> everything comes your way without effort
Hey everyone,
I'm seeing a lot of new people here, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself.
I’m Salman; I create videos.
(My previous account @visualsbysalman got suspended; this is my new one.)
Been doing this for a while now:
>2021 Started on phone (image stitching + text)
>2022 Got into video editing, edited my own gameplay & reels
>2023 Started working with clients (reels + gameplay)
>2024: Joined an agency → left as Senior Video Editor (worked on podcasts & YouTube content)
>2025 Joined another agency as a founding member / post-production manager
>2026 Now working full-time as a video editor and post-production manager.
I appreciate you all being here. 🤝
Looking to hire a graphic designer :)
Need a pfp + banner for my editing brand 'Critical'
[clean, professional but fun]
Ready to share my vision in detail and discuss new ideas
Willing to pay a lot for experience or someone who nails it!
Editors, tag any designers you've had a good experience with.
Send me a DM with any relevant work
In Feb, I started my Upwork journey.
Also started documenting on X (@visualsbysalman) but the account got suspended.
Spent $50 on connects, cleaned my profile, added experience, applied only to jobs I knew I could deliver… still got nothing.
That’s when I realized Upwork is a long-term game.
You don’t win by just applying.
Most real work comes from invites.
So I started asking my existing clients & friends to hire me on Upwork.
After months (and burning half my connects), I finally got my first $40 job.
Then did a trial for another client
they liked it but didn’t hire me… still paid me $30.
Upwork took 20%, but today after some tweets
I landed my first 3-figure job on Upwork.
Now I’m about to get my Rising Talent badge too.
One of my best wins of 2026.
Keep pushing. Don’t lose hope.
woke up to being on the forbes30u30 list
can’t begin to explain how much this means to me.
my family that came from nothing and still gave me everything.
this is for them.
In 2019 I had £0.31 in my bank account.
Loan sharks at the door.
Tried dropshipping.
SMMA.
Every shortcut that looked like a lifeline.
None of them worked for me.
Then I closed a $600 client doing outbound.
Refunded him a week later because I hadn't cracked delivery.
That failure was all I needed.
By 2022 I'd signed a UK tech startup that raised $5M.
Generated 100 calls for them in 3 months.
Made $150,000.
Took my girlfriend to Milan.
Walked into Louis Vuitton, walked out with her dream bag.
Built Based Consulting, hit $20K/month in 45 days.
Then I thought it needed more.
More reach. More followers. More complexity.
That thinking nearly broke me.
Too many calls, wrong-fit clients, no time, no freedom.
So I burned it down and rebuilt with one rule:
Build lean. Stay lean.
Today:
- 86 clients signed since January 2025
- 2-3 hours of work a day
The goal isn't more work.
It's a compound where everything I love is under one roof.
Gym. Office. Home. Family.
Every win is another brick.
I'll keep updating you as I go.
